Hawai‘i Community Lending welcomes you to invest in our loan fund and enjoy the benefit of positive financial return and meaningful social impact.
Your investment helps us get affordable loans to our local people who cannot qualify at banks or credit unions. By investing in us, you are helping to create economic opportunity and economic change right here within our own communities.
Invest as little as $1,000 or as much as $1,000,000 for five to 20 years. Investors receive a fixed-rate annual simple interest return (see table below).
We have an unblemished record of repayment to investors – through good and bad economic times. Your investment is protected by our low default rate, our excellent history of repayment from borrowers, and by pooling investor funds with grants so the risk is shared across the loan portfolio.
We are a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution that is certified by the US Department of the Treasury.
Investments are straightforward and uncorrelated to traditional fixed-income instruments. You will earn simple annual interest, regardless of the ups and downs of the bond market.
Your investment will have a fixed maturity date and can be rolled over or paid out upon maturity, at your discretion.
